A High Efficiency Furnace Works

In the event you have been scurrying about looking for a way to do your part in helping improve the environment and attempting to be ecologically responsible, here’s a thought. Walk through every room in your house and examine everything and anything that relates to the use of energy or water usage. When you get to the basement, the biggest culprit of misuse and waste will be staring you in the face. That’s right, it’s the furnace. If it is older than your children, it is more than likely wasting fuel as well as dollars. A high efficiency furnace will work for you.

Sprinkle launches for Tegra 2 devices, coming soon for Kal-El

Hot on the heels of the launch of their new website, NVIDIA and Swedish development company Mediocre have teamed up to launch Sprinkle to the Tegra 2-toting masses. Sprinkle is a water-based, physics-enabled game where your challenge is to put out fires across the planet of Sprinkle before your water supply runs out. It sounds simple enough, but this feat will not come easily; there are obstacles that try to prevent you from putting out the village fires.

Though the premise for the game is slightly childish, the graphics are phenomenal–as we’ve come to expect from Tegra devices. The water effects are super realistic and fun to watch. Additionally, the game is fairly addictive; I’ve spent the last hour or two playing.

The playable demo has over 45 levels with increasing complexity as you progress through each level. Your fire truck skills get better as well, allowing you to do cool new things as time goes on.

But don’t just take my word for it. Watch the video below to see Sprinkle in action.

If you want to check out Sprinkle, it’s now available on the market for Tegra 2 devices for a mere $1.99. We’ll have a full review of Sprinkle coming soon, but if you simply can’t wait, go ahead and let us know what you think of Sprinkle in the comments.

According to the NVIDIA blog, the developer is also working on a future version of Sprint that will take advantage of NVIDIA’s upcoming quad-core Kal-El mobile processor. As Mediocre puts it, “With Project Kal-El around the corner, these are interesting times for mobile game developers – especially for those of us who are making physics-based games. We think Sprinkle is a good example of how to use complex physics simulation for gameplay and not just effects.”

NVIDIA launches web-front for Tegra Zone, celebrates by giving away tablets

Tegra Zone

NVIDIA has announced today the launch of a new website for mobile gaming at tegrazone.com. The new site resembles the Tegra Zone application found on Tegra 2 devices, but adds some key functionality. In addition to being able to view and purchase Tegra Zone games, NVIDIA has added a community forum for gamers to connect with one another.

According to the press release, the Tegra Zone website provides individuals who don’t yet own a Tegra device a chance to see what they’re missing out on.

Where the site really differentiates itself from the Tegra Zone application is via social sharing. If you happen to find an interesting game or news article on Tegra Zone, you can share it with others via the standard social channels ( Twitter, Google+ and Facebook).

Tegra Zone will also feature NVIDIA sweepstakes where you can win all kinds of cool tech gear. In fact, they’re running an awesome giveaway to celebrate the launch of Tegra Zone. In an order to promote their new site, NVIDIA is giving away five Acer Iconia A500 tablets over the next month.

So if you want to win an Iconia A500, or simply want to check out what NVIDIA’s Tegra Zone site has to offer, head over to TegraZone.com and give it a spin.  Be sure to let us know what you think of the site in the comments.

Update: A few people are having trouble locating the giveaway. It can be found on the community tab.

Droid Bionic Rule All Machines campaign revelaed

droid-bionic

Yesterday, when a new video popped up online showing the Droid Bionic’s boot animation, we mentioned a leaked and pulled advertisement for the device that featured the tagline “Rule All Machines.” Thanks to DroidLife, we can now get a good look at that ad, as they’ve been kind enough to post the video on YouTube for all to see.

As with most Motorola Droid campaign teasers, no real information has been revealed. By now though, most anyone who cares about the Bionic has had plenty of time to memorize what we already know. LTE compatibility, 4.3-inch qHD display, Omap dual-core processor, 8MP camera with full 1080 video record, HDMI mirroring, front-facing camera, Webtop support… Sounds familiar, right?

Clearly, Motorola isn’t messing around with the ad campaign behind the Bionic. And why would they? This phone is huge for Motorola. Possibly the biggest release of the year. They need to make it count.

Only two more weeks until we finally get to see the Bionic in action. Are you ready?

HTC EVO 4G Receiving Maintenance Update

This image has no alt text

Just because the HTC EVO 3D has become Sprint’s new poster child for top-of-the-line Android doesn’t mean there is any lack of love for last year’s EVO 4G. A new update is slated to roll out over the next couple of weeks bringing a few minor enhancements and plenty of bug fixes to the world’s first 4G WiMAX handset. Here is what to expect in the update to software version 4.53.651.1:

  • Integrated voice recognition accuracy with voice search and voice-to-text
  • Image size issue with contact transfer over bluetooth
  • Images cut off in Picasa
  • Group contacts not in alphabetical order
  • Out of memory, Unable to send SMS
So, at least for now, the EVO 4G will not go gentle into that good night. No, it will rage, rage against the dying of the light. You can head over to the source link below for more info on the update.
